Threatened assault An estimated 2.8% of persons in South Australia (39,300) experienced threatened assault during the 2017–18 reference period, including:
Just over one-third of persons who experienced threatened assault in South Australia (36% or 14,200) experienced a single incident, while 44% (17,300) experienced three or more incidents. Of those who experienced face-to-face threatened assault:

Break-in and attempted break-in Approximately 2.0% of households in South Australia (13,600) experienced a break-in during the 2017–18 reference period. Of these, 79% (10,800) had the most recent incident reported to police. During the same period, an estimated 1.9% of households in South Australia (13,300) experienced an attempted break-in. Of these, 52% (6,900) had the most recent incident reported to police. Theft from motor vehicle During the 2017–18 reference period, an estimated 2.8% of households in South Australia (19,500) experienced theft from a motor vehicle. Of these, 61% (11,900) had the most recent incident reported to police. Malicious property damage An estimated 4.2% of households in South Australia (29,500) experienced malicious property damage, which was lower than the national rate (5.1%).
